ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Automotive Surgery requires an experienced Motor Mechanic that will diagnose, repair, maintain and test motor vehicles, engines, and related mechanical components.
You will be required to perform the following duties:

Detecting and diagnosing faults in motors, engines, parts for vehicles and other mechanical components

Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts

Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed

Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with regulations

Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired

Testing and adjusting vehicles or mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance

Use specialty tools such as wheel aligning machine, brake lathe, and scanners
-
May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness

Communicate with customers, make bookings, and answer phones when necessary
PREFERRED SKILLS

Strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities;

Proactive and efficient approach to all tasks and ability to work independently;

Ability to learn from constructive feedback and ask for help when needed;

Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English and another language (Thai, Hungarian, Mandarin, or Arabic preferred);

Dedication to delivering the highest quality of work.

Must have a Certificate III and at least six years of experience, or Certificate IV.

Valid Australian driver’s licence required.

RMS ASCIS Proprietor and Examiner Light Vehicles qualification is a bonus.

Will be required to work onsite at our workshop in Botany.
